Worn Eyes

insomniac

I know too many guys like you
After the latest, hardcore beat
the newest chemical buzz
riding a tide of cash
no doubt ill-gotten
with paranoia your biggest foe
Everyone’s your friend
- too cool for them
in your flash clothes
and always out
or coming down
A vehicle on NOS
- it’s gonna wear away quickly
Don’t you see the shadows
- your eyes can’t hide it
not like your big smile
or flash clothes
or dopy laugh
And you bring it all to me
- the insomniac always out -
in my flash clothes
- all bought on sale -
and take me like yourself
without noticing my empty table
- for I have nothing to offer -
without noticing my eyes
- no where near as worn as yours.

I've been the shoulder for others before now. It's difficult sometimes to know what they need if you haven't gone through the same thing.
Good job |
