With the lint in my pocket,
The crumbs at the bottom of my purse,
The palm of my sweaty hand,
Or in a box thrown in my bag,
I always have it near,
Never out of my reach.
Why do I carry it everywhere I go
When I have no intentions of wearing it?
Why is it the most beautiful item
When I would have never picked it out?
And why is it so fun to glide my finger over
When it's cold and hard and bumpy?
Because it's from you.
That explains it all.
Even if times have changed,
And things have slipped away,
It still stands
For the love we once had.
