The 10 O'Clock News

Contributed by oneir8dude on Tuesday, 12th September 2006 @ 09:46:47 PM in AEST
Topic: toughstuff

I heard some things today…
That pained me in such away…

The Croc Hunter died from a stingray…
All that came from my mouth was, NO WAY…

The trouble in the Middle East…
The fighting seems to increase…

I’ve been thinking hard on 9/11…
The news has quickly become darkened…

A 14-year-old girl disappeared…
The gas prices rose just as I feared…

The Democrats and the Republicans are at it again…
There was a strike from the laborer workmen…

Floods from excessive rain…
Insurgence stifled not beaten…

Pastor faces new molestation charges…
I haven’t heard good news in ages…

It’s all negative propaganda…
It’s all hurtful drama…

I can’t stand to watch it day in and day out…
I don’t think I can live that way. That’s not what I’m about…

I dislike the spin the media puts on things…
And the deep dark depression it brings…

When am I going to ever see…
Something that pleases me…

When I turn on the television…
That's better than Cheaper by the Dozen…

I dislike the news…

Nicely done

I never listen to the news or buy papers, I wish we could have a good news channel for us.. The thing is we would not be in reality then as the news is nearly all bad.. Really could relate to your poem, great write. xxx

This very well convers the question of 'what is this world coming to?'
Great job. I like the mood, kind of morbid and bored and just plain tired of basically a depressing world.
Well done
