Lady Gray takes seat upon balcony,
As the Gardner tends the lawn,
He whistles a cheerful tune,
With birds that grace the dawn,
Lady Gray sits smiling,
As the gardener prunes the flowers,
Shes Sipping warm chamomile tea,
Lazily wasting away hours,
Of gentry society,
Expensive jewels on silken glove,
As she observes the rugged figure,
Of the peasant that she loves,
She smiles in his direction,
He is smitten by her face,
Her elegance and poise
Ensnare him in her grace,
She knows of his lusting,
In her heart she yearns for him,
But the hierarchy of her stature,
Make him feel there love is sin,
He has dreams of horse-drawn carriage,
Passionate kisses midst heather,
A bedchamber filled with romance,
Under quilts filled with soft feathers,
She has dreams of picking daisies,
Stolen kisses in moonlight,
Merry ale a night of dancing,
In her quintessential life,
Her butler approaches with a tray,
Of fine French champagne,
As she gazes beyond the boundaries,
Two hearts in love remain.

This is a brilliant poem; I love the part: She knows of his lusting, In her heart she yearns for him, But the hierarchy of her stature, Make him feel there love is sin.
"There" should be "their" but I'm not complaining! Great write, keep it up. |
