In my mind,
I’m sitting on that bridge again,
With my legs dangling over the side,
I’m looking at the sunset in the water,
Questioning myself,
Shall I or shouldn’t I?
I can hear children,
I can hear birdsong.
As the sun sets,
The picture fades,
The song of children and birds dies
I’m now left in my cold, dark room,
Listening to the screaming and arguing from downstairs,
I press my frustrated face up against the cold glass window
And with the sound of the rain,
My hopes and dreams are washed away.
