My heart had grown cold, my mind lost in a black hole
My soul was battered, my hope shattered
Darkness had been all around me, yeah all around me
Around me until that warm September night
On which she stepped into my life
And I, I emerged into light
Into light, into light…

I had been roamin’ the streets, back then lonely and blue
I had found myself in too deep, climbing a cliff too steep
Darkness had been all around me, yeah all around me

On which she stepped into my life
And I, I emerged into light

I had lost track of time, with no way to rewind
As she came into my sight, such a sudden delight
My gaze became hypnotized, the wonder of her face
Her luminosity, her playful curiosity...
I was lost until that warm September night
On which she stepped into my life
And I, I emerged into light
