Broken Promises

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You've left me standing here,
Not knowing what to do,
You asked me once if i would consider,
Remarrying if i were asked,
I said if the right man came along,
I'd gladly say I do,
Of course at the time I was referring to you.

Seems so many times lately,
You do not understand,
How lonely I feel,
Standing as I am.

Once you made me the happiest,
I have ever been before,
For you were the one who took my heart,
Made me feel special,
Made me feel whole and loved,
You returned all the love i gave,
One hundred percent and more.

Now I feel full of sadness,
Waiting to hear from you,
Sometimes I sit and ponder,
Looking at the stars above,
Wondering if you love me truely.

I don't want disappointments,
I don't want to be left feeling blue,
Most of all I don't want to lose you.

Most of all I have to say,
I don't want the broken promises,
You've already made,
Telling my son,
That in thirteen sleeps,
You promised you would be here with us,
How sad to break a promise to a little lad.

There's so much confusion,
Going through my mind,
The lack of contact,
Makes me ohh so sad,
One minute I'm on a high,
When you say you love me,
And you'll be here with us soon,
But when days turn into months,
It makes me wonder,
If you're really true.

So cast me no tails and cast me no lies,
Make my days full of sweet tomorrows,
Please be here soon with us babe.
