The life for me.

Contributed by lillyjane on Saturday, 9th September 2006 @ 01:02:51 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

Always wanted to live on a ranch,
then one day got my chance,
met a cowboy, made me his wife,
at last I got my cow girl life,

I castrated bulls, roped steers,
sat round the camp fire drinking beers,
I gave that life my heart and soul,
I even ate cold beans, out an old tin bowl,

one day I even broke a toe,
was thrown by a bull at the rodeo,
we went riding the range, my cowboy and me,
some how ended up, in injun territory,

the chief and my cowboy had a pow wow,
the chief pointed at me said I want that gal,
my cowboy was scared, gazed at the floor,
thats how I became an indian squaw,

That old chief, declared his love for me,
kept me zipped up in his old tepee,
one day I spotted a passing wagon train,
I escaped and joined, on the trail again,

Then I opened my eyes,it was a day dream,
I was laying by the pool eating ice cream,
I wasn't a cow girl after all,
but dont you think, my day dreams cool..

Ha ha loved it. You got to tell me about this dream in October. Perhaps we might try to relive it. Well us ladies like dreams to come true. This made me smile, and there aint been much of that the last week. See ya cowgirl or squaw. Sue xx

Hi Lilly,
That was quite surprising and maybe even a little bit disappointing as you turn out not being a cowgirl at all :-)

As for a Dutchie like I happen to be the words "life on a ranch" just make a vague kind of picture from old Country-movies but you describe it quite well. Castrating bulls is something very far away for someone living in Amsterdam. :-)

A beauty, this one, and enjoy your iceream.

lilly .. this was so much fun to read. I, too, am glad Ken
inspired it. It has a very smooth rhythm and rhyme to it.

the second stanza is rather scary to me though...
LOL

Great write, lilly!!

Shame on that cowboy for letting slip on by lilly-
..though I see the silver lining.. in that, you no longer had to castrate bulls.. lol - indeed~
