Degenerate

Contributed by oneir8dude on Friday, 8th September 2006 @ 11:41:46 PM in AEST
Topic: Patriotic

I watched a game the other day…
That had our men and woman in such away…
Bring our flag out and then they played…
Our National Anthem and my day’s woes began to fade…
Just when my heart began to melt…
I heard some boos, and then I felt…
Anger for these degenerates that did…
They were adults and not kids…
They call themselves Americans…
Yet they demean our servicemen…
I feel anger and dismay for the direction we are going…
For these people act without knowing…
That freedom’s not free…
If they’d open their eyes they would see…
That America the Beautiful…
Is protected by the brave and the willful…
And we cannot do anything but support…
And honor those who left port…
To give them the freedom…
To complain at random…
We would be a police state…
And not live a life great…
Without the devotion…
Of those serving over the ocean…
To give us peace at night…
While they dutifully fight…
For they love our country…
They left their families for you and me…
All we can do is give them our love…
And pray to God above…
For their safe return…
And try to learn…
That bad support is no support…
Meet them at the airport…
And tell them thank You…
For they did this for me and you…

Thank You my heroes…

Pretty sad to see some degrade the flag. I feel its not just disrespectful to the servicemen and service women but to the great people of the country. Bad support is worse than no support..its demoralizing in a time that its more crucial than ever to show support. Well written poem. K&H
