Pieces Partly

Grief

You left me high and dry,
I waited for you to return.
And I kept asking myself why?
Was there something I needed to learn?
I waited for the bright, orange glow,
On every morn and night.
I looked high and I looked low,
My body filled with fright.
Hours turned to weeks,
Weeks turned to days.
I missed your rubbing cheeks.
Every single night I prayed.
And then I found you,
In your watery grave.
I would have helped you,
But for once I couldn’t save the day.
I miss you always,
I have some closure.
Even though you’re gone,
Promise this time, you’ll stay closer.

Hi Cassandra,
~~And then I found you,
In your watery grave.~~
A riddle in a beautiful though sad story. Did he drown or "just" leave you? Am I missing the point?
Because the first line:
~~I hope you never find someone like this.~~
doesn't seem to fit? Is it hate because he left or despair because he drowned?
Grtz,
roberto
