i dreamed last night of paper angels
they smelled of summer rain and had dragonfly coated wings
flowing hair that reminded me of autumn leaves
and eyes that can only be described as star studded ashes
they swayed and danced to music that i could not hear
mirronets to the beat as tall grasses are to the wind
tossing and turning, moving as only a butterfly can mimic
there feet nothing but frayed edges and peeling parchment
they laughed as i tryed catching the sound of hope in my palms
mocking me as i tryed making oragami birds fly
they asked if i knew where love was to be found
and found it even more amuseing i only knew where it wasn't
there laughter expelled as one-winged butterflys that flew in cirlces
Why not ask the raindrops where to seek I asked
More laughter escaped there lips falling like stars from heaven
They said it was silly to speak to silence suggesting I should serenade the wind instead for better conversation
I'm still not sure I agree, but who's to doubt perfection?
