Do you ever think of taking the easy way out?
Suicide is the easy way to give up.
It must have crossed everyones mind,
Leave all this pain and sorrow behind.
Constant war with life, including yourself.
Theres nothing that can be of help
Apart from not to face it.
Its the easy way but the selfish way.
People now cry for you,
some wish they had died for you,
But they just can't see,
This is how you wanted it to be.
You're now at rest,
No longer depressed.
Why can't people see it the other way?
Why did you do it?
Because you wanted to,
Could that be the answer?
It may have been selfish but you did what you thought best.
There was nothing making you carry on.
You couldn't help it if you were weak.
You weren't the only one that is weak
But you were too weak.
You thought only of yourself.
It was the easy way, the selfish way and the weak-minded way.
Why should people feel sorry for you?
You chickened out.
You would say it was because you were screwed up.
**** You, you were selfish.
Who got sielf screwed up in the first place?
Did you think of others when you tied the noose?
I'm upset and so is everyone else,
But there is one difference between them and me:
They feel sorry for you but I hate you!
Nothings that painful.
It would have sorted itself out.
No, I lie. Something is that painful:
What you did.
Others may hate me for saying this but they can't see the truth.
I don't feel sorry for you.
I feel sorry for those left behind.
You had a choice
And deep down everyone knows it was the wrong one.

I'm sorry you feel this way. but as much as i love this poem, mayb you should try and see it from their point of view. maybe it's selfish of other people to make people who want to kill themselves stay here. But it is a very good poem, i love the bit:
It must have crossed everyones mind,
Leave all this pain and sorrow behind.
Constant war with life, including yourself.
Theres nothing that can be of help
Apart from not to face it.
Its the easy way but the selfish way.
People now cry for you,
some wish they had died for you,
But they just can't see,
This is how you wanted it to be.
You're now at rest,
No longer depressed.
its very good.

very intense... i have had this theory for awhile: if even only ONE being loves you, then there is a reason to stay on this earth... i have wrestled with suicide before, and i am still here, and plan on being for as long as i can... the feelings don't change, the pain is there, but i have found my way out of that drastic choice, as you say... it's ok to hate one that has taken their own life... they don't feel the hate, as you said... only those that are left behind do... |

I've been through all the emotions connected to suicide. I believe that it is selfish of us to want these people to stay. when you love someone you want them to be happy, and if this is what it takes then see it from their side. It sucks to lose someone this way, but let them be happy their own way. sorry to preach, but it took ten years of my own pain to come to these thoughts. |

I can only say that I know how that feels. Several of my friends have attempted committing suicide and I feel the same way about it. I dont know what I would do without them but there would be that anger towards them for being "selfish." This is very good, thank you for saying what I wanted to say all along. |

Your anger is well represented in this poem. Every day I have makes me gladder I didnt kill myself. Life is hard, but s-l-ow-l-y it is getting better. If this is true remember that healing will come with forgiveness. Hang in there.

i wouldnt call themselfish etc. I agree in that u should see it from their point of view. Calling them selfish is and weak is wrong and disrespectful in a way.
