Drip, drip, drip...
splashing on the frozen earth
a perpetual beat
like music
it's the sound of death
echoing into the darkness
amplified by the silent world
it sounds so harmless to untrained ears
but I know it is a sign of forboding
sending chills up my spine
fear creeping into every limb
I know whats out there
I can almost feel her watching me
waiting for the moment to stryke
seeing every move I make
I'm trapped in her twisted game
The dripping has stoped
a new silence filles the air
I can feal the tension
leaves crunching in the night
She's getting closer
And I have no were to run
There is no escape
Walking into the clearing
The figure sets her gaze upon me
violet hair tumbling over her shoulders
snaking over her nakedness
In her grasp is a deer
barely alive
beyond saving
blood is dripping from its neck
the same blood leaving her lips slick and wet
crimson streaming down her pale chin
her intense green eyes lock with mine
mesmerizing me
Invading my mind
She can see my fear
And she grins malishusly
Fangs glistening in the moonlight

I could see her in my mind.
This poem has a bit of the
themes I enjoy reading and
writing about. The feeding
on the deer was great. A
dark image indeed. truly Doug |
