Death is a Darkened City

Life's modes swing through my unconsciousness
Falling with purple rain,
I painfully shatter a golden road
As the microphone picks up pain in my voice
And the colourful universe is quietly mourning a dying city
It tearfully sings for the city as my constant pain suddenly flies, flies
Away down a flaming road of life and death.
The lighted street comforts me like silent rain
And the buildings breathe quiet, cold memories
Misery helpfully sweeps a forgotten, dusty corner
As the window sings for it’s fallen city,
And gardens breathe gloomy, dead flowers
As dead, misty minds quietly sleep in forgetfulness
Love is a cold moon that falls soundlessly on a pretty sun.
The forgotten City swiftly closes my mind as the Universe suddenly cries out…
“My light has expired, and Death is a darkened City”
