the night of the awakening (part two)

Contributed by twbanter on Monday, 4th September 2006 @ 02:25:27 AM in AEST
Topic: fictional

I stumbled out of the bathroom
And went to make coffee
But the kitchen wasn’t very nice to me
The second my foot landed
It started complaining
And by now my head was in a whirl
I said, do you mind if I hit the fridge?
But the fridge said just you try it!
So I said, “I Will!
I jumped right on the kitchen floor
Despite the fuss it raised
I whipped open the fridge door
And grabbed myself a drink
Then I told them all where they could go
And even flipped them off
Then I went to drink the drink I’d got
And got a total shock!
The can I held started squirming
I threw it down in total shock
But it jumped back up
And started telling me off

So what the hell was real anymore?
Was anything the same?
Something I could count on
And who the hell’s to blame?
I wondered as I went to take a shower
But the shower was already taken
Unless I was totally mistaken
Or maybe it just walked off by itself
The way the days been going
You just can’t tell

So I had to take a step back
Collect my thoughts
Things just weren’t real to me
So what do I do?
I asked myself
I decided maybe I’d ask the trees
So I did
And the answers
I couldn’t believe!

They told me my life’s been just a lie
They said I was sleeping this whole time
They said that this was reality
How it’s always been and will always be
I was living in a lie
We the trees were always alive
And you the man will never be
Yeah that’s what those stupid trees told me

It was strange man but I liked
it. I really liked the part where
you flipped off the fridge. haha
Reminds me of the time I went
to the zoo and flipped off the monkeys.
I'll tell ya they don't like to be flipped off.
anyways good job , truly , Doug
