It was my mother who taught me songs
I poured on ladies for their throngs
For the buttocks and Italian matrons
I was the poet and darling of gardens
On to the greensward, leaves rustling
Appeared like thousand fans thronging
I gave them endless summer concerts
Tears poured for me in their trumpets
If their tears would fall forever for me
Those gracious ladies who are not dummy
Now their eyes wrinkle and they too
For those old songs and that are not new
Alas! I do not remember the old songs
No lady had cried for me, is it my wrong?
Mother O` mother teach me new songs
These ladies cannot wait for any long
When in romance, I play the art songs
With my band, I play the popular songs
When its festive in town, I sing folk songs
With my wife, its ballad and all love songs
