Whitney

Topic: LostLove

I hate this cold spot in my bed,
The place your warm body used to fill,
These pillows and sheets hardly make up for you,
Dreams tease my heart with thoughts of you,
How cruel thoughts can be,
Your lack of presence is a burden,
Makes me think of you often,
How could one person leave such a mark,
One day I will get over you,
I’m starting to think that day will never come,
That day can’t be close,
My eyes still fill with tears when I think of you,
Why did such an awesome love have to end like this,
Although my heart may have grown and mended,
It stubbornly holds onto us,
I still wait for your call,
Still wish to see your face again,
Hope to hold you,
Long for your lips,
I’m so pitiful I still picture our future together,
All of these are just dreams though,
I wonder if you ever have them too.

This is such a sad piece of work. Poetry wise, this is a masterpiece indeed. Keep up the good work.

You put beauty and heartache in your words and they are interwoven wonderfully. This poem was so sad created some good imagery in my head. Keep on writing soon you will find the wounds have healed. I've been there before.
