Way back when I pretended to ignore
The words you said, now I wish I’d pushed for more
When you felt much more for me
I did for you too, and I wish you’d see
I send you a smile everyday
I’m always so close, yet so far away
To what I want, and what I hope you want too
Because to how I feel, I must be true
I don’t know how much time I’ll endure
Because with you I can’t be sure
Whether I am your friend or more
I wish we could be like we were before
When I knew how you felt about me, and I about you
It was much easier for me, for I knew
That if I told you how I felt it was a guarantee
That how you felt would be the same, toward me.
Now I’m wishing you were only mine
And we’ll fall in love – sweet and divine
From now ‘till then I’ll wait for the day
To hear those words I long you to say.
