Mother Earth

Contributed by twbanter on Thursday, 31st August 2006 @ 08:52:19 PM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

Aqua flowing
Through my veins
Fire burning way down deep
Lava flowing
From my face
Don’t think I’ll
Ever get no peace
Mom was born trillions
Of years ago
In her fury she had me
One of many
Flying free
My fire’s quenched by the sea

Wind and rain
My growing pains
All these things affecting me
Seems I’m never at rest
A live show for my guests
Who so quickly come then flee
And here you are
Just a blip in time
You think you’re damaging me
But you use nothing
I didn’t lend you
And after your demise, I’ll still be

(chorus)
They cry for Mother Earth
Always endeavor to save me
But you’re tearing down your own
And in the end, I’ll still be
You think you mean so much
But a speck of time will tell
Long after you flee
I’ll still be

I rose up the mountains
Gave birth to the fountains
The seven wonders
Don’t come close to me
You brag and you battle
I’ve seen you all prattle
And it don’t mean nothing
Just you wait and see
Oh that’s right, you waiting
Ain’t like waiting to me

(chorus)

Cause billions of years ago
I was born
In the universe I formed
And then let to go
Now like some kind of rash
You all came along
And before you know it
The way you are going
It won’t be long…
And you’ll be gone
And I’ll still be here
Like you never were
Just carrying on

(chorus)
