What Has Happened To Kaylee?

Topic: Suicide

“You cut yourself
is that something to be proud of?
When you bleed,
you smile
then show your arm off
like a prize.
Well
would you still smile if you were to die?
What would be your prize
a coffin?
You would be proud of sad faces
and making your mother cry?”
Then she told me
she didn’t care
and I simply walked away.
Two months later
she was dead
with blood and knife.
And yes, I hope she’s still proud
in that cold, dark ground.

oh my, the imagery in this is chilling!!! i had a friend who was "proud" as well... plus a mother who showed me her scars... my friend is doing very well, and i'm not quite sure where my mother is... haven't spoken to her in awhile...

this is a very well written poem...
