This is for the tears,
That never find their way out.
For the screams we'll never scream.
For the shouts we'll never shout.
This is for the tears,
That never showed the things we've felt.
The objects of our depression,
From the cards that we've been dealt.
This is for the tears,
That have built up inside our souls.
The ones that we don't let fall
When we just can't reach our goals.
This is for the little tears,
Still coursing through our blood.
The tiny tears collecting,
Building into a raging flood.
This is for the tears.
For your tears. For my tears.
The ones that sit inside us,
Even after all these years.
This is for our tears...

i like this. tears uncried, definately a worthy subject. sometimes i think tears and screams that are held in are more indicative of true pain than the ones let out - unfortunately most people don't even realize they are there.

Lovely write. I must admit I liked the repetition of the line "This is for the tears". It worked well. The last stanza really spoke volumes. Thanks for sharing.

| you got me in the first 2 lines then the next to .....man .... i couldnt begin to describe those emotions for the tears that never fell...the beauty is in knowing that im not the only person who has or has had these tears! great write thank you! |

Very good topic, something we can all relate to. This work shows good insight into our behavior. I especially like the line about little tears building into a flood. This poem reflects a lot of caring and empathy. Good style.

Hm... I really liked this, and I'm glad I stumbled upon it. I'm new to this site, and I'm glad that there are good poets here.
Your rhyme scheme is pretty good. This poem spoke to me, and struck a chord. Nice work. :) |
