The unblinking moon up in the sky
Nearer the stars than you or I
Oh! How I wish that I could fly,
And visit you as you pass by.
The view of the earth, so blue with sea,
Can’t be as beautiful as you or me.
Timeless life is on your side,
You look down with majestic pride.
We reach out with shuttle or rocket,
To land upon your barren waste.
We landed and we stirred the dust,
You must see us with little trust.
We stole your rocks as well as dust.
We left bits of junk to lie and rust.
The shame is ours, I am sad to state
That all we have done is contaminate
You change the tides twice per day,
Night and day you clean our beach
Oh! Moon; look down with your distaste,
The rubbish left is our disgrace
We should be left to our own fate,
As all we do is contaminate.
