ETERNAL EMBRACE
I started to explore nature in her pristine settings, solitarily,
My ‘last’ sojourn with nature, enraptured me abundantly.
And to the precarious cliff, over looking the tranquil deep sea,
I climbed resolutely, and up there, I was overwhelmed with glee.
The nature unfolded unto me an enchanting view, par excellence,
Standing on the cliff, I felt, floating in blissful transcendence.
How long I was there, how I descended, I knew hardly ever,
As I found myself on the shore, left out in the bitter cold weather.
Lying on the shore, I watched the Sun rise clad in crimson red,
And the birds, though sang on different scales and tempo, varied,
The blend of music was harmonious and pleasing to my ears;
Composed by Mother Nature, it is sung from immemorial years.
It was a pleasant day again to explore what nature was all about,
I got up and sailed towards the woods, widely stretched out,
That beckoned me by swaying their green branches gracefully,
And responding to their hospitable gesture, I waved back, readily.
I wandered thro’ dense woods, the lofty trees, screening the Sun rays,
An atmosphere of celestial peace and serenity pervaded there always.
And the fragrance of flowers wafted along the gentle flowing breeze,
The quietude often disturbed by strong blowing winds, from high seas.
I strolled pensively, wondering how nature radiated solace in abundance,
Caring and fostering all species thro’ the ages with love and perseverance.
I wished my last lap be with Mother Nature, basking in her motherhood,
Never to go back to the dim and bustle and stress-ridden world of falsehood.
I suddenly realised, I covered quite a distance, deep in my reverie,
I was amazed, as unexpectedly opened up before me arresting scenery.
I noticed a falls, with roaring noise, falling down from the dizzy heights,
With childish excitement, I stood closer, to be sprayed by water droplets.
The falls flowed down the valley as if the nature released her pent-up force,
And I saw, a meandering thin line, as I followed my gaze, down its course.
I stood there, deeply engrossed as the nature waved her magical wand,
Impulsively, I contemplated, the mystery awaiting me in the great beyond.
As I walked down unwillingly to that desolate starting point of the day,
I was astounded to see a few men in uniform, hovering over the bay.
Excited to know why they gathered at this forlorn and forsaken place,
A sinister force drawing me towards the scene, I accelerated my pace.
When I reached there, no body cared to take notice of my presence,
All their eyes focused on the ground intently, grief writ on their face.
And I found to my horror and shock, lying on the shore, a mutilated body,
‘Possibly a fall from the cliff and washed ashore?’ whispered somebody.
A sharp pain and a profound grief engulfed me, on seeing the ghastly sight,
Though I turned away; impulsively, I returned; a close look gave me a fright.
I shivered, the spine chilling, I recognized the face, it was ‘I’, unbelievably!
My soul rested in peace; as I wished, Mother Nature, embraced me eternally.
