I feel unhappy, I feel so sad…..
I’ve lost the best friend that I ever had….
She was my companion and my protector….
She was my friend and I miss her….
Never did she react unless she felt pain….
Tonight in my world the heavens rain….
I found her one-day out in the yard….
To fall in love with her wasn’t that hard…
For her love was unconditional and given at will….
At the foot of my bed she would lye quietly still….
One sound out of place
To our rescue she’d race….
When she was out she would let all know….
If you’re here unwanted you’d better just go….
That was then back in her youth….
The days of late were sad to tell the truth….
She was not the strong entity she was in her day….
But in my heart and mind that’s the way she will stay….
The pain of just being showed in her eye….
She couldn’t walk no matter how hard she’d try….
My girl needed to go and I needed to let her….
My selfishness and need wasn’t helping her….
With a kiss on her head and a great big cry….
I let her go where the angels fly….
I miss her more than I thought I would….
I miss her more than most people could….
I miss you Old Girl

Brought tears to my eyes too.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I know it's so hard but when we luv them we know they are better off than watching them suffer.
