If I Was God This Would Be So Simple

Do you know how much
That I feel your pain?
You may not believe such
An absurd sounding statement
But it is so very true
For it’s within the love
That have for you
Because when you’re sick
It makes me feel sick
That I can’t be your medicine
And when you’re sad
My heart aches
Seeing you in such a depressing state
Worst of all
When you are in pain
I want to tear myself apart
For I’m to weak to stop it all
So never doubt
That you’re alone in your pain
Because I feel all of it
And if I could
I’d be the medicine
To heal your sickness
I’d be the light
That warms your sad face
And I’d be the thief
That steals away your pain
Leaving you happy and painless
As well as myself
But in the end
I’m simply too weak to be your cure
So please forgive me
