Timeless Sea

Contributed by twbanter on Tuesday, 29th August 2006 @ 10:24:22 AM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

Long before time
When the worlds just begun
Not a creature alive
And the land's on the run
Mightiest of all is the Sea

The tiniest germ had started to squirm
As the land became three
It took millions of years
Between you and me
But what is that to the Sea?

Soon life was born
Organically formed
As the one became seven Seas
And great creatures roamed
Now tossed from their thrones
As man came to be

And now here we sit
In this blink of a life
It's not hard to see mysery
Violence and cruelty
Pollution and corruption
We've put a rude dent in the Sea!

What a perfect notion
To live on the ocean
Floating through life I'd be
But Governments screw ya
They rip off and screw ya
They've put a price on the Sea!

I've been of shore
And I've seen it's wrath
It's power and majesty
Man is a fool
Still yet to learn
Real revenge
From the Sea

Well tides will change
But that's not for me
I like the waves
Flowing endlessly
And there's nothing quite like
Just watching the Sea

Good poem; though I must say, I differ, somewhat, with your opinions. If you choose to know how - read my poem: " It's too jingoistic."
