Topic:
selfstruggles
|
My mind is muddled, with hidden woes,
Wondering which way I should go,
This life is bearing down on me,
Should I go back to how it used to be,
Back to loneliness, and solitude,
Where I can hide away from pain,
Away from friends and family,
Locked inside myself again,
Away from pointed questions asked,
And peoples well meant advice,
No longer a topic of conversation,
Well yes! that would be nice,
To be in charge of my own destiny,
To amend my own mistakes,
Do my decisions annoy you?
Its my LIFE, for goodness sake,
To love again , to laugh out loud,
Has always been my desire,
And if I found that special someone,
I fear of me , they would quickly tire,
Am I a wretched waste of time?
Or just a romantic soul at heart,
Is it my own self destruction?
That makes me fall apart,
So my muddled mind is spinning,
Like an ever turning wheel,
And me I am trying to explain,
Exactly how I feel,
Struggling inside and out,
Trying to find the key,
Lost inside a waking dream,
To find the person who is ME,
Should I weather this coming storm?
Or in fear just run away,
Or be strong and resourceful,
With this game called life we play,
Well I still don't have the answers,
Perhaps in truth I never will,
Life is not a bed of roses,
Its a cold and bitter pill

Sue, This piece kicked butt. I think we all can relate to many of your thoughts and fears, hopes, desires....etc. You put this down well. Thanks for sharing.

Oh my, dear Sue, such turmoil!! This was
aptly titled, my friend.
It nearly tore my heart in two, just reading it.
I understand these emotions and the wish
to just be left alone to live your own life, so well!
Stanza 8 was exceptional!
Excellent post. *hugs, cause you could use one*

I can relate and imagine feeling quite similarly a time or two ... I saw a sticker today, " When life hands you lemons ... squirt the juice in your enemy's eye "
