What are we waiting for?

My palm is upturned,
Beckoning
Your palm is outstretched,
Reaching
Our hands are seasons apart,
Waiting
My eyes are clouded,
Leaking
Your eyes are nervous,
Twitching
Our glances will not meet,
Waiting
My heart is lonely,
Pining
Your heart is uncertain,
Abstaining
Our souls are ready,
Waiting

what a great and well-crafted poem. We're all waiting, I guess. Half the time we don't even know what we're waiting for...we just are. |
