Walking down a lonely street,
So familiar to my feet,
Nothing left for me to find;
Perhaps it’s time to speak my mind,
On my own in this dark hour,
Escaping feelings both sweet and sour,
Fully formed yet undefined;
Perhaps it’s time to speak my mind,
Lost within a darkened room,
Drowning in a sea of gloom,
Cannot flee the daily grind,
Perhaps it’s time to speak my mind,
So many lost, yet more in pain,
Life has nothing more to gain,
Needing time to unwind,
Perhaps it’s time to speak my mind,
Wonder where he sleeps tonight,
My star shining, guiding light,
Time worn and ragged, wrinkled and lined;
Perhaps it’s time to speak my mind.

Perhaps it is Rubes two shoes. Your poems are too sweet for words sometimes. Perfectly pained and soulful. x |

I wanna know if ya fell off the "tightrope" and, if ya did,
at which verse was it? I can tell ya weren't tipsy for the write has coherency, but there is an edge. A very fleeting edge. Nice work.

To speak your mind, you feel is right,
But wait a while, until its light.
Loved this one, we all can identify with it. But saying that , I do speak my mind sometimes, an afterwards wish I hadn't. Some things are just best left unsaid.
The rhyming is really good, it flows so well. Sue x |

OHHH Boy! I understand!
Don't know what more can be said.
In my case it's a blended family and my husband drives me nuts. Speaking my mind only causes pain most of the time, or a fight.
Should i speak or shut up? Oh well, I speak anyway!
I do get it. Thank you for letting me know i'm not alone.
