Disabled Mind

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Sunday, 27th August 2006 @ 05:34:22 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Do you think it is easy;
that this is some freakin pleasure ride?
(I'm belted in this seat, man)
(I wish I could step out)
Round and round the block I go
looking for places to hide.

You question, what insanity is.
You think its freaking freedom?
Spit in my face, will you ?
Viperous (female canines) in your
holier than thou kingdoms.
Preaching love and understanding
out of your high priced smeared lipstick
mouths. Your
clouds of thick perfumes
are slowly suffocating me.
My nares burn.

I wish I had not a feeling inside.
I wish I had not a feeling to hide.

I feel your indignation like a spike
as you toil at your job all day.
(as I once did)
Once upon a time when the
foundation beneath was not yet
crumbling

only fractured

to the now dust

it has become.

I've come undone.
(I hear your silent whispers)
Failure.
Medicated
Sedated
You afraid of me.??
Might catch it if ya get too close.
Laughing in the moonlight,
Scream in the sunlight.
Days and nights all fade into one,
Madness.....
And it's all mine.

Laura Horner

A potpourri of disabling diseases ... whoooh!

I especially love how ya described a couple of my pet peeves:

"out of your high priced smeared lipstick
mouths. Your
clouds of thick perfumes
are slowly suffocating me."

Fast moving, blunt
scary, oh dreadful
MAD
and ya claim it all!

Enjoyed playin' the writer in this read! Good work, Laura.

Another good poem here. I like the work that you do with words and language. My nares burn was favorite line of mine, well placed and succinct.

Oh sis .. this was so bloody painful to read!
(I hope you feel better for having got it out).

Exceptional word usage hun .. and so raw!!
And the descriptions were outstanding, especially
the second stanza.

You go girl! Nothing will hold you down EVER!

You have one of the bravest and kindest souls
I've ever known DH. And I am SO very proud
to call you my friend. : ) *hugs you tons*

Well, Bingo, laura. Or should I say, "Ditto"?

What I like most about this is the seething animosity-It is loud and clear, the barely restrained rage, the way you have painted this is so effective. You have a way of eliciting emotions, I find. Maybe It is because I am closer to you in this than others might be, but regardless. The time between your posts is always too long.

Totally honest and emotional, loved it, absolutely loved it. It's unfortunate that because some people are prudes, you couldn't fully express yourself in this poem....5 stars anyway!
