A Battle For Love

Contributed by Gigi_15 on Friday, 25th August 2006 @ 04:31:06 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

At first glimpse
A look so cold
Those hollow blue eyes
The way they stared at me
Almost as if they wanted to rip out my soul
Along with every feeling of happiness inside

At the second glimpse
He didn’t even have to speak
For his stare said enough
What was coming, what I had to face
Wasn’t unbearable
It was heartbreaking

The questions
The disturbing silence in between
The heartless reactions
And in one moment
In just a few words
With just one sentence
He made my eyes as hollow, heartless and cold as his own
For he had broken me into pieces
Stabbed me right in the heart
With a million knives, one by one
As I took my last breaths

Slowly the took away
The one thing I only wanted
The one thing I was searching for all this time
He didn’t even gave me the chance to fight
For my lost mystery
For my found love
For my now lost love
For no one else
But you

This battle for love
A battle I have now lost, but only for now
As time passes, I will wait for you
With patience by my side, I will keep loving you
For no obstacle could come between what we have
Because this great love we share
Has gotten me here
Waiting as the clock ticks every long second of the day
That I have to go through without you

This battle for love
This battle for you, wonderful
Has not yet ended
Until I have you right here with me
And forever I will breathe again

This is a lovely piece, mixing desperation and determination flawlessly. Hope you get your man back.

At first I thought "What? That's my poem!" I've written one with the same title, but with quite a different path. This, again, flowed very well, it really seem like you have no problems getting your thoughts on paper. It seemed almost a little rushed, but with the emotions in it, that's understandable. Do take care, keep writing.
David

Oh, and I'm sorry, two typos:

Slowly the (he) took away

He didn’t even gave (give) me the chance to fight
