NATAS: The House of Autumn

I'll never forget this place

the house that is forever fall

I'll never forget this place

and the memories that i saw

oh the memories of sweet autumn and the lessons that life taught him, my precious lover together we embark on an incredible journey together. to a new home, no longer cold and alone a place of solitude and compassion, a place we make our own. i have such wondrous dreams of our future home and the images are so clear neither far nor near, a picture perfect habitat only a dream could make and only reality could shape or break. i want my fantasies fulfilled and make it my lords will that together we can break the seal on the house of autumn.

my dreams are so clear

i can close my eyes and see my future home

neither far nor near

when two are together no one is alone

we walk into a new house on the market, it isnt the closest or the farthest but the outside resembles my dreams. the lush front yard, the rose and azalea garden, white picket fences steal my heart harden. an old lady greets us at the door, neither rich nor poor. looks at me and gasps then speaks with a shiver and rasp "you" she says "its you!" she slams the door in my face and runs inside with hurry and haste. the realtor says the old lady is crazy and "if you ask me kind of shady, shes selling this house because she thinks its haunted." "haunted?" i reply, "did someone die?" and before i could finished she sighed "no, no one has died in this house nor on the land, she lives alone a widowed ma'am. Solitude has caught up with her, but i can still give you the grand tour."

oh this place is exactly like my dreams

every hallway every door i have seen before

is this truly my dream house of premonition

or is there something slightly more twisted

we feel out the paper work that night and within a week we move into this house of heavens light. i run thru the hallways arms spread wide, like a child on a carnival ride. i hold my lovers hand as we lay in bed goodnight and sleep tight i whispered and said. i awake later in a daze to someone calling out my name, my lover awakens too and the sound is clear and true. we hesitate for a moment and the voice stops and the silence cannot be broken not another word there in spoken just the chills of the autumns night

sarah sarah, im outside the front door sarah

sarah sarah im inside the living room sarah...

clutching at my heart, my husband does not awake

frozen in fear, i hear a piece of glass break

sarah sarah im coming up th stairs sarah

sarah sarah im coming to your room sarah

still frozen and trapped dwelling on my fate

oh why oh why doesnt my lover awake

sarah sarah im outside your door sarah

sarah sarah im coming inside sarah

the door creaks open theres no light in the hallway

darkness stands there and the halls cold air rush in my way

sarah sarah im at the foot of your bed sarah

sarah sarah, im right next to you sarah

i could feel the cold breath on my neck

i didnt dare open my eyes i didnt dare let...

sarah sarah....I'VE GOT YOU SARAH!

i awoke the next morning in a blood curdling scream, not even my husband could comfort me from that nightmare of a dream. before i could calm down he asked me if i had been sleepwalking because in the middle of the night he heard me talking. he said i was calling out my own name last night. outside ,in the living room and in the hallway but he couldnt find me. something is wrong here, everything i feared. perhaps this place is haunted, the ghosts of autumn. sometime passes and my nightmares grow more intense and my husband says he sees me roaming the house when im asleep or when im not even home and hes all alone.

what evil the astro plain has sent

to twist our minds that are bent

what evil falls this fall

a ghostly figure that widow once saw

i awake in the middle of the night and hear running thru the hall, just a trick and no treat this fall. i storm out of the room to catch the intruder and the whispers became less muttered. the whispers were calling out to me and this time im not afraid, im not in a mental cage and im putting an end to this game. i follow the whispers to the next room which we saved for a guest bedroom, i open the door to the lightened room lit by the moon. the full lunar glow shines thru the window and in front of that very window stands a woman in the very night dress im wearing with her back turned to me, how daring. i run up to her and forcibly turn her around....

it was like looking in a mirror

no more feelings of fear or danger

now things are getting clearer

the visions of me and my doppleganger

she casts no shadow, eyes of black and skin a deep cold, its a lifeless body without a humanly soul. i yell at her, demanding to tell me what is happening to me, she looks at me and shrieks out a blood screeching scream, she doesnt stop, i slap her in the face and demand she leaves this place. my house of paradise haunted, my house of autumn. she begins chanting backwards as tears stream down her face, i recognize the reverse medley of amazing grace. in a last psychotic attempt to right this wrong i push her out the window and watch her hit the ground, she connects with the shards of glass and doesnt make a sound. My husband runs into the room and walks right thru me to the window where he cries "oh god, oh god please dont die" i scream at him to notice me but my screams die in vain as he runs downstairs to the outside to comfort her and scream my name.

i'll never forget this place

the house of autumn in which lies...

a gravestone with my name and face

i'll never forget this place

because this is the place where i died
