It's there
Sitting in that cold, dark corner
That I hear those menacing footsteps
The sound that declares
Fear
Pain
Sorrow
Closing my eyes
Only fuels my imagination
Makes the burning tears
Betray me
As they slip
From the eaves of my lashes
My hands are so cold
My eyes frantically searching
For solace under the lids
But there is nothing
I refuse to believe
That you are here
But the undeniable horror
Is there
Lurking in the shadows
Seeing you is seeing fear in itself
The look in your eyes
The flame burning inside you
Eager to be through
Gasp out my last breath
As you take my life
Death has won
Once again
