An Insight into Me

Contributed by jerseysue on Wednesday, 23rd August 2006 @ 04:26:46 PM in AEST
Topic: poets

Positive thoughts I can always find,
From my strange and inquisitive mind,
They make me write my words in rhyme,
Of past and present ,or any time,

I see the beauty in my minds eye,
Of tragedy, gloom and , tearful sighs,
Of happiness, glee and welcome dreams,
But the poetess is not what she seems,

She is no expert , no great poem writer,
She is but normal, no freedom fighter,
A woman who has learnt a lesson in life,
To write feelings down, to relieve her strife,

No princess, witch or evil gremlin,
Its just my humour, its the way I tell them,
My jokes aren't funny, they tell a story,
I laugh at myself, and not for glory,

I pick a topic, close to my heart,
Think of somewhere, for me to start,
Make up a middle, an ending too,
Write it down, and send it to you,

So here is a little about me , you see,
A hidden talent, I would disagree,
Just a woman, Who likes to unwind,
Her thoughts from her inquisitive mind.

for someone who isn't proffessional, you damn write well sue! and words that come from the heart cannot be taught, only pain, pleasure, and a mixture of those wonderful and occassionally soul destroying lessons that life has to teach us can bring a talent like yours to the fore; you're right, it certainly isn't hidden, it's plain to see for all who've read your poems. brilliant, tuesday xxx

Aha! More info for that poem I'm gonna write about you! I do have to agree with you. It isn't a hidden talent, it's an outright gift of talent blessed to you. So don't deny it and write on, buddy. This was an intimately honest and beautiful "insight into you," 'cept that hidden talent thing.

I really like the content and the
flow of this. It started to flow
for me almost like a rap song
near the middle. truly , Doug

This piece got me thinking.... wondering what on earth I'd put on the page if I very intentionally sat down to pen 'an insight into me'. Hmmmm .... (???)

Your piece is sweet and straightforward and endearing... as you are, Sue. Yep - I think you nailed it. : )

Yes, a wonderful, baring insight Sue, but I am certain
[and would argue emphatically] that this is not all
there is to you .. nope .. not even HALF. : )

wonderful write, sue. Truths and confessions
(or are they admissions? lol )

Sue,

My belief is that good poetry comes from ordinary
People, Thoughts and feelings from the mind and heart... You my dear are not just a mere normal...

"She is no expert , no great poem writer"

expert- n. possessing special skill or knowledge; trained by practice; skillful or skilled

With as many poems as you have here I would say you are practiced... As good as they are to me, I would say you possess special skills, Skillful and skilled...

There is my Opinion... And you are an expert

thank You Sue

Bill
