Before You Speak

Contributed by sadaddy on Tuesday, 22nd August 2006 @ 02:37:34 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

For all the lies you have told
To the cheating you have done to get your way
To the very souls that you have stolen
To the hurt and pain that you have caused

Couldn’t you have at least of thought before you spoke
Would you have spoken differently if you were not mad
I know you didn’t realize what affect it would have

What you speak is not the truth
Don’t you know what mess you have caused
By not thinking before you speak

These affects are everlasting
So you need to really think before you speak
It has only led to pain and suffering

For if you speak before you think
It can only bring hurt and sorrow to the ones that love you
In the long run we are all just caught in this mess

So next time, please think before you speak
For I have already forgiven you for what you have said
Please remember that I will always love you

“ And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.” (From the Bible: James 3:6, King James Version)

This is a vital message, for so many speak before thinking of the consequences; or make decisions before pursuing wise counsel, whereby in the multitude of counsel there is safety (so the Bible says). Bravo~, what a great muse to your gallant credit.

Excellent advice .. if only

.. seems in life, many of us speak more out of anger
and pain than out of love and understanding. It's a difficult
thing to overcome .. for all involved.

With time and growth, though, I feel anything can be
accomplished!! : )

Great write!!

This is something I've tried to teach
as well in my life. It is good to know
others are teaching it also . The
careless words of anger are terrible
things. Great poem , great message.
Truly , Doug
