Friend or Enemy

Friendship is give and take,
Even when you make a mistake,
To err is human, to forgive divine,
But it edges on a very fine line,
You were someone I thought I knew,
But selfishness I found in you,
Of others feelings you don't care,
When the pain they feel is hard to bear,
You goad them with a selfish ardour,
And when they crack, you hit them harder,
Is supremacy really your hidden goal,
When the misery you give, takes its toll,
Well I myself would rather give than take,
No hateful mishaps will I make,
I promise to be a friend, and so just,
And I can never break that trust,
So friendship is give and take,
Be careful you don't make a mistake,
For once that trust has been broken,
My door will stay shut, never again to open,
So treat your friends with love, and care,
For you would miss them, if they weren't there,
Trust is something that you didn't give me,
Are you my friend or now my enemy.

A bit abstract? I could find not one bit of abstraction to this poem of observation, honesty, resolve and suggestion right to the end question without a question mark. Freudian ommision? This sucker is good and brutally assertive (with justification), my brit buddy.
