I found my heart buried in your backyard
with an orange tiger lily on its grave.
It's deafening thud and constant pulsing
Drove me to an insane position.
I heard it in my mind , moving fast yet slow
scraping against the walls of my sanity
eroding my self control.
So I walked this shallow path
as the thud grew louder and louder
My hands against my ears...did nothing to stop the vibrant noise
I found my heart buried in your backyard
So I wrapped it in my shirt,
and hugged it to my chest...
Deaf to the screams of my soul.

I read this a couple times. I have to say, I was quite in to it. Great write. Good metaphors. Thanks for sharing.
