Slowly Dying From Inside Out

Contributed by Ruby2sdy on Friday, 18th August 2006 @ 02:07:49 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Pictures in frames bring back an image of you;
Not enough to sustain me, or carry me through,
This life we lead so unaware,
That death is always waiting there.

The shadow that sweeps in through the night,
A long dark tunnel, devoid of light,
A shallow grave, a box in the ground,
Tears that fall without making a sound.

Angels will wait to steal you away,
Might be tomorrow, could be today,
So to all those breathing, who understand,
Death is always holding your hand.

Make the most of each moment you pass,
For you don’t know if the next is your last,
And when you’ve gone, people will say,
Such a shame that death passed your way.

I like this.

I especially think that last stanza is good. There is a message there we all need to take note of.

No one ever knews what time they have left... use it as well as you can.

I've noticed that you've used the theme of death in quite a few of your writes... I hope everything is ok.

Good write again, my friend. I am never disappointed with your writes.

This is really good, yes we don't know when our time is up, well with the exception of living with a terminal disease, I have witnessed the suffering that brings, so I hope death takes me suddenly. Sorry not being morbid, just honest. Thanks for sharing this wonderful write. Sue x

At first i only saw the title (slowly dying from inside out) and the fact that it was life poetry. i was thinking aint that the truth. but fantastic write, love the imagery.

Good grief! This is so bloody powerful!!

It is filled with a wealth of wisdom!
The last stanza really sums it up for me. Such
raw truth in that. It is incredibly sad that so many
of us don't make the most of each moment ..

Excellent piece. Positively absorbing!!
