Love, Having to say good-bye

School is in now,
The kids are there,
I thought I would walk in the park for awhile,
I saw you there.

Did you notice me,
I bet not,
You were holding his hand,
He was holding yours,
Your eyes were beaming,
Probably like many times before.

I heard your conversation,
He then whispered in your ear,
Then I seen the tears flow,
You asked how many more years.

He said no more years babe,
Then He bagan to cry,
Then I felt a tear,
Roll from my eyes.

I didn't mean to listen,
But I needed to know,
What was going on with these
Love birds I know.

She told him she loved Him for 50 years,
Now this had to happen,
As she wiped away her tears.

He looked at her with a grin,
Told her, he loved her so,
Then He said well, babe,
It is just my time to go.

I looked down at their hands,
Then I looked away,
I remember a time,
When I heard my husband say.

I want to grow old with you,
Forever and a day,
I never want to part from you,
Even on my dieing day.

Now I look at this couple,
Now I think sincere,
That after loving someone like this,
How can it end, after loving someone for 50 yrs.

The lady looked my way,
She smiled and said hello,
I really just wanted to get up
and go.

She said honey,
No matter what happens,
No matter what is said,
Always love your man.

Don't fight over the little things,
Don't make things so serious,
Don't even fight,
Don't argue about everything,
Smile and say ok
Make a move each time,
Say sorry in every way.
Life is to short,
No matter how it seems,
And remember another,
Just one more thing.

Forgive and forget,
Enjoy each day,
Because now it will be hard,
When one has to go away.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
