walking silhouette painted in colour
only speaks black and white
fingertips end in his directions
blank stares catch a glimpse.
4 quarters jingle with each step
but only 4 quarters ... only gets him so far..
a water for thirst
cant buy his feet off the ground.
but a diamond on his lovers finger.
for
a simple laugh.
a simple smile
shall do for the day...
so soon will the days death overcome in fancy lighting and black.
but as morning lays he wont care to comb his hair
as late night arrives him in vain.
so
-mirror.mirror.-
how do i look today.
-mirror.mirror.-
will i find love today.
-mirror mirror.-
shall i seek insight today.
-mirror mirror.-
shall i live today.
but the blank reflection of response is only himself.
-is only himself.-
his answers held in question
for only yourself to repeat.
-no secrets.-
-no lies.-
-no love.-
just truth.
so sunrise.
shall i walk where no one knows my name today.

I loved the conclusion, a wonderful streetcorner type poem, stumbleine:
(Come around ruby, I could never sleep alone, he he) |
