When pressure prods and brings the bends,
We lean upon our special friends,
The souls who'd take a fall for you,
And marvel at the good you do.
You've crept up as a friend to me,
And showed me sights I'd never see,
Without your special bond I'd be,
That bitter boy, remember me?
As life turns bad and brings cold stares,
You find out just who really cares,
I thank you Mel for being there,
So funny, cool and debonair.
Out on your birthday, short on cares,
We watched the folks who gawped and stared.
Like breathing in our cool sea air,
To friends like these they can't compare.
Happy Birthday xxxx
