Poets
Have a mission
To raise the consciousness
Of the indifferent masses,
And beat the drums for those that cannot beat
They have to bring to memory
Greatness-, and ring the bell
Because they are
poets.

Poets
Must come to grips
With issues of their day,
And to being maligned,,-
Create a legacy for the Unsung,
Ready and willing to accept
Scorn, abuse and insults,
If they be true
poets.

Miss Dandy, I do agree with your write here. It's your bible quoting and war supporting that sorrow me. War is unkind. Yes, we do have the right to speak our minds in this country, how much longer, one only knows. War sickens me. Pictures of burned children sicken me. Total destruction of people's lives sicken me. I think you can expect people to be upset by your one foot in church and one foot in the battlefield.
I wish you peace, Laura (who has both feet planted on her sacred Mother Earth) |

Your poem is well written and expresses important sentiments. Shame on Christopher for extending his disagreement in philosophy to hurtful personal statements. |

Another Great Write Elizibeth
In My opinion, I think that we all read differant things and take what we want from each others writing.
I am against war of any kind, but it does not stop me from reading, I believe in free speech
and Its ok to agree or disagree , in a nice friendly way.
keep writing your thoughts in Poetry Elizibeth
I will keep reading,
You are a truly talented poet in my opinion.
God Bless You
Doug :-) GLYASDI. |

Terrific Elizabeth,
Chris - don't know a poet from a pot. Deadhead - war is unkind, tyranny worse.
Dougnut -We are all against war - unless we want to oppress someone; or we're someone who don't want ourselves, or our friends oppressed, murdered, maimed, beheaded, bombed, raped, etc. - you get the idea, don't you? |

'Who do you think you are?'
Ahh a poet and a fine one at that...
Excellent and effective as asking 'Who is Spartacus?'
after reading any word-smith worth their ink will proudly stand up and proclaim 'Yes I am Poet.'
Well Done
Peace
