In the Moonlight

Topic: SadPoetry

In the moonlight...
these tears fall and everyone could see what you did.
But only in the moonlight.

In my dreams...
this ache could be felt by you.
But only in my dreams.

In yesterday...
I was safe in someone`s arms.
But only in yesterday.

No one ever knows what happens
when the lights go down and the moon arises.

No one ever knows what you feel,
when you smile all day long.

No one ever knows that through pain you`ve learned,
love means you let them love who they care for...
even if it`s not you.

In the moonlight...
maybe someone could make it better.
But only in the moonlight.

In the past...
maybe life fits together.
But only in the past.

In the world we don`t see...
maybe people wouldn`t know this heartache.
But only in the world we can`t see.

And I pretend that love means
you let them cry on someone else`s shoulders.

And I pretend that love means
you don`t hurt when they say they don`t care.

And I pretend that love means
you let them be happy,
even if it`s not with you.

In the moonlight...
I don`t dream; I cry.

For dreams hold the person I was
before you walked away.
For dreams hold the hope
that maybe you could come back.

In the moonlight...
she never took my place.
In the moonlight...
she never loved you.
In the moonlight...
I know she`s the one you really love.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
