Here I am, under this expanse of space
O’ desirous beam; come shine down on me,
In my hammock on this cool summer night
I’m searching under stars; I’ll wait for thee
Where’s the reflection of your face
High up in that darkest piece of blue,
In-between clouds, where you used to sail
The sun has gone down; come let it burn on you
You’re beautiful to me, my inspiring light
My powerful beacon in the skies,
Tonight, won’t you fill me with pleasure?
Come satisfy me; show me your heavenly eyes
I yearn to be under you, my precious treasure
Where might you be; where you are hiding?
I’m calling out to you my leading light
My echos' bouncing between shapes, I’ll wait for thee
How many more nights, under cloud covers, must I search?
To find you, my peace; my serenity,
Why, even the twinkles, that used to surround you, are gone
Here I am, come steal my heart once more, I’ll wait for thee
O’ desirous beam; my shining splendor from afar
Sail once again in that darkest piece of blue, my lovely,
Then bathe me with your glowing divine
I’m searching, under absent stars; I’ll wait for thee

My heavens! Should anyone come here and not sigh deeply (repeatedly, even) - I might suggest that they have never truly known longing. Ah, but those that have been impaled by Cupid's arrow will undoubtedly find something wholly relatable here!

A beautiful write here, Raquel. Gorgeous, and dreamy, and yes, completely sigh and smile inducing. My favourite poem of the night so far.
