We're always there!

Topic: FamilyPoems

I wish I could hold you till your a man,
make all the bad go away,
teach you things to understand,
why things happen today,

Tell you right from wrong,
so you know how to treat others,
always know whats going on,
with you & your brother,

I worry about you every day,
learning to succeed,
for you to listen to what I say,
its information that you'll need,

I dont want you to think I'm mean,
just that I care,
will you know when your a teen,
that I was always there?

The road to life in hard & long,
so I want the best for both of you,
to do the right things instead of wrong,
and learn in all that you do,

I want to sheild you from fear,
& hide it all from you,
mommy & daddy will be right here,
no matter what you do,

We will be friends some day,
you can always come to me,
I will listen to what you have to say,
the best parents we can be!

So much is stacked against you these days. There's so much commercialism giving our children false gods to worhsip juat to make money out of them.
It was very different in the twenties and thirties when I grew up we looked to our parents.
Now they become slaves to whatever is the latest "craze". It's more important to have the latest "thing" than any "old fashioned" principles.
Your poem is a tender insight into being a mother.
