Chemical Imbalance

Drugs flow through an addicts veins like cars down a highway at rush-hour.
Sweet sweet release
sold by the dollar, the pound, the lira.
Bringing down your heart rate, blood pressure,
increasing dopamine and serotonin
bringing extremes and balance to your system
How could you live without your fix,
daily injections, pills, or cigarettes all
pushing chemicals into your system
Your dealer is the key, the gateway to your ultimate aphrodisiac
He lives to serve, lives and cares to supply.
All with his white coat and happy smile, saying …
“Welcome to your local pharmacy”
