Wishing I was Miss Cinderella

Contributed by Shattered_soul on Thursday, 10th August 2006 @ 02:45:05 PM in AEST
Topic: PoemsonBeauty

Once upon a time
I lived a life worth living
But that was just a dream
A dream set in my mind

Now I look at my reality
There is no royal palace
I live in this dreaded house
My only friend
Is a simple mouse.

I dreamt a life of happy romance
A life with a happy princess
A life with a fairy godmother
A life where a simple slipper
Brought me my happiness.

Now waking up
From my lovely dream
There is no glass slipper
There is no princess
There is no royal palace.

Now waking up
I live in this rutty house
With my friend the mouse
Cleaning, working, time and again
A useless task which must be done.

I only wish I was that girl
By the name of Cinderella
Who’s life was handed to her
By a fairy god mother
I only wish my life was controlled
By a glass slipper.
