Together

Lying under a tree
Sun beating down
All focused on the prey
All accept me

It grazed right pasted the pride
Almost all at once
They jumped up
Running across the tundra at great strides

I fall behind
And soon they are out of sight
I slow down
Nowhere to go and Im in a tight bind

Left behind by the pack
But someone came back for me
He grabbed my hand and pulled me along
I ran as fast as I could and didnt look back

Together we ran
Sharing a glance every once in a while
We came up behind as the prey was devoured
Devoured in such a short span

The wind blew and the birds soared
Starving with nothing left
We were thrown back into the pack
Off on our next expedition, our next hoard

And we ran with all our might
This time was unique
We were first
We came out on top with a fight

We were the leaders of the pride
And till this day, together we stay, never to fall behind again

The idea's really good, although I'm not sure if the 'togetherness' seemed to be as large of a focus as it could have been. Nice work though.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
