Why?

Contributed by karoody on Tuesday, 11th February 2003 @ 12:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

It all started with a phone call...

"Come pick me and my son up," you said.

I hear screaming in the background

"Michael, don't hit me!"

That's when the conversation was over

I hung up the phone and rushed to the car.

Took you and your sweet angel to my home

We talked all night

I told you, "This isn't love,

Husbands aren't supposed to do this

You are putting yourself and your child in danger."

You said you were going to move in with your mom

Helped you pack your things....

Didn't hear from you for a while

You weren't even at work

Few weeks later, show up with bruises

"I fell" is all you said

Next day another friend gets the same call...

Why can't you see that you deserve more?

Why won't you help yourself and your baby?

Everybody offers to help,

So why do you live like this?

Why?

she's mad, she is too afraid to go it alone, i had to take leave and was once in an fbi protection program for 3 years with my kids, not from my husband; but his family after he died, courage is not the absense of fear, but the conquest of it; tell her to be bold in what she stands for, as a loving mother first, and be careful what she falls for, tell her not to be afraid to go out on that limb, for that is where the fruit is....huggs and for your friend too, love nessa
p.s. tell her new zealand and some other places will not honor his search for them.

So sad Kara your beautiful, caring heart is portrayed in this one. Situations like these are always sad there is often nothing u can do however which is the saddest thing.

Karboody
This is an all too frequent problem in society today and goes back deep into the past. I even had cases when workin for the PSS (Voluntary body in Liverpool before WWII and in the 50's)
Little or nothing prepares young people today for settling down and bringing up a family.
and much of life today makes it very difficult.
I have to repeat what I said previously I skirt round the subject in some poems I write but you go straight to the heart of it.

Great writing

My heart falls even futher into the abyss of the unknowns when i read this... it reminds me of too many things ive seen everywhere... i may know why this particular woman is still where she is... you see when you get close to someone a loved one or friend... you can never really be upset with them forever... our emotions recall the good times with that person and we want or try to make them reoccur in place of the dark times... many people say that the women or whoever stays in a violent relationship are stupid or dumb... but really can you let go of someone you know well and loved very so much and still want to... love is hard to break when you get close with someone... there is always that last string that holds together the two people it connects... even though the relationship is a failure after many years of memerable love that one small string makes it hard to let go of someone like that... final words "The Rose Most Beautiful Of All Others... Yet Still Causes Pain When You Don't Act Carefully" -Sid
