My pledge

Topic: InspirationalPoems

Has your relationship failed? If so please read this poem,

I hope that it will give you strength,

and inspire you to realize you can do it on your own:

It is a new year and I vow to be strong

No more whining, crying, and complaining

I’ve been doing that for too long

No more being dependent,

because I know I can do this on my own

Never again will I stay up at home waiting by the phone

No more feeling like I need someone by my side

No more forgetting that I too have pride

No more taking crap I don't have to take

Never again will I make that mistake

I promise this time to do the best that I can

To pay close attention until I fully understand

That the only way for me to succeed is to do it on my own

I need to take responsibility and act like I am grown

I am going to stop trying for people who don’t care

And stop trying to figure out why life is so unfair

From now on I am going to start using my head instead of my heart

And put an end to foolish games before they even start

I promise to never let anyone ever bring me down

And never give them the satisfaction of seeing me frown

I am going to recognize foolish lies right when I hear it

And never let anything ever break my spirit

So this year will be good because I will make it that way,

by never letting anything destroy my day

Well, you're safe that way...I guess. But, if you're going to truly love someone, you must be willing to risk hurt and dis-appointment.
God bless

( to the above comment. Love is a name we give to the affect the chemistry in our bodies have on our minds. There is no difference between 'fake love ' or 'true alove' that stuff comes from fairy tales, but it feels damn good doesnt it) But to the above poem- Brilliant it really shows how the pain from a relationship can scar us for our whole lives. And how we must continue to tell ourselves the opposite to how we truley feel in order to escape the pain sometimes. The pain from a breakup is imense but although scared and scarred the beauty of it is, We are just human and we will fall into the same traps we always do. We will always rely on others and be let down. without risk there would be boredom it is in this I agree with the above comment. Being hurt is just part of the rollercoaster of life just go with the flow and dont fight it too much... I liked this poem. Thankyou
